LANDON COX ADDS FOUR TOP-FIVE FINISHES AT DIXIE SHOOTOUT ROUND 5
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Landon Cox continued his impressive 2026 season with another consistent weekend of competition, earning four top-five feature finishes during Round 5 of the Dixie Shootout Series at Huntsville Quarter Midget Association.
Competing across four divisions, Cox finished third in Light 160, fourth in Light World Formula, fourth in Senior Animal and fifth in Senior Honda, adding another productive weekend to a season that has already produced 24 victories.
Cox showed his speed early in the weekend by capturing heat race victories in both Senior Honda and Senior Animal, putting himself in position to contend when feature racing began.
In Light 160, Cox delivered his best feature result of the weekend, racing his way to the podium with a third-place finish. He followed that performance with fourth-place finishes in Light World Formula and Senior Animal before completing the weekend with a fifth-place result in Senior Honda.
While a feature victory eluded Cox at Huntsville, four top-five finishes across four different classes demonstrated the consistency that has become an important part of his championship pursuit.
The 2026 season has already been a remarkable one for Cox.
Through the Huntsville weekend, he has collected 24 victories, including eight National event wins, three Regional event wins, five Winter National victories and eight club race wins.
One of the biggest highlights came at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where Cox delivered one of the strongest performances of his young career by winning three of the five classes in which he competed during one of the premier quarter midget events of the season.
Success across so many different events and classes has put Cox in position to compete for something even bigger as the season enters its closing stretch.
He is currently in contention for three National Championships and one Regional Championship.
That makes weekends like Huntsville particularly important. Winning races will always be the goal, but as championship battles tighten, consistently finishing near the front and maximizing points can become just as important.
Four classes. Four top-five finishes. Another productive weekend toward the bigger goal.
Now, the focus shifts back to National competition.
UP NEXT: NASCAR YOUTH SERIES HEADS WEST
Cox will next head west with the NASCAR Youth Series Presented by Cook Out for another National Pavement showdown at American Quarter Midget Association.
With three National Championships still within reach, the upcoming event provides another opportunity for Cox to build on an already outstanding season and strengthen his position in the championship standings.
After eight National event victories this year — highlighted by his three-win performance at Indianapolis Motor Speedway — Cox will head west looking to continue doing what has put him in this position: competing for wins, maximizing points and putting together complete race weekends.
Cox recently joined SpeedU, where his development extends beyond his performance behind the wheel. The program focuses on helping young racers build the off-track skills needed to pursue a professional career in motorsports.

The Dixie Shootout Series brings together quarter midget drivers and families from across the Southeast for a multi-round championship contested at participating tracks throughout the region.
